Rock Springs, Wyoming: Killpecker Sand Dunes Click here for map

Rules: Inside the bathroom there is a map showing legal riding places during different times of the year. In Wyoming the rules are a little vague but you are supposed to have a Wyoming registration or OHV sticker to ride on public land or an from another state. I have never seen any officials from the BLM or NFS here though.

Right after you turn off of Hwy 191 onto CR 17 you'll see this BLM sign telling you how far to all of the "sights". I probably won't still be there when you come by.

Yee Ha!!! (That's me)
This looks like a good parking place.
Mooooo. Yes, there are cows in the dunes. They are mostly near the edges or where there's water. I raced him and kicked his ass.
Is that a cool picture or what. I got a little carried away for the camera.
These razorbacks are killers.  Notice how steep it is on each side. The Pond below the dune comes from the snow trapped under the sand melting. In spring there are very few razorbacks but everywhere in the summer.
Looking at everybody else at the bottom. This hill is pretty steep.
This is the very Eastern end of the dunes.  Camp is about 4 miles West. That's RoostKing's Banshee in the foreground.
Notice all of the razorbacks.  Almost every dune is like that.  Be careful!
Whoaa.  Big air!
There is about 11,500 acres that you can ride on out of about 30,000 acres.
Wheelie up the hill.
That's 1/500th of a second of me going by at 56 MPH (GPS clocked)
This is the edge of the dunes on the south side.  Not a bad hill to race up.
And here we are racing. I'm all the way on the far left with the red shirt. That's Roostking from ATV Connection on the red Banshee getting roosted by the Bombardier. The Bombardier jumped the gun a little. You won't see the 400EX again but at least he tried.
The KX-250 won. The Bombardier missed a shift and came in third but he usually just beat me by about 1 quad length. I came in second. The 400EX from the previous picture is no where to be found. Roostking on the red Banshee came in 4th followed by the 125 dirtbike.
Me again ripping up the hill. That's Jeff watching me in awe. :) He has a nice 250R that's fast and clean! The pond is partially frozen in March.
This is the back side of the dunes (south).  It turns green in this little valley.  The valley a protected area for good reason.  Notice the old house built out of stone.

Panoramic view from the small parking/camping area.  Sure is hot in the summer with no trees or shade around.
