| This is ChokeCherry; it's one of the main "attractions" here. It is tall and steep. Notice the buggies and quads at the bottom that's over 300 feet below. |

This is from the trail leading from ChokeCherry to Devil's Dune looking along the side of the dunes. |

When you get to the top of ChokeCherry you wait for the next guy to try. Most people come up the back side which is the only way a normal quad can get up. In the background are the Grand Tetons mountains (those pointy things). |

This is a great wall behind ChokeCherry. Go up the wall, down and get a run to the top of ChokeCherry where I took the picture from. It's pretty easy to get up with a 4x4 or paddles. Behind this wall is Dead Horse bowl which is huge (sorry no pic). |

| Devil's Dune, another main attraction. This is an awesome bowl. . It goes down then up about 300 feet from there to the top. Steep and very smooth at the bottom of the bowl. There's a couple of people at the top to give you an idea of the size. |

| This is looking down from the top of Devil's Dune. Yes, it's steep and tall just like ChokeCherry. It's very round at the bottom so you can go pretty damn fast in there. Fun!!! |

| Another view looking into Devil's Dune. |

| This is the very far end of the big dunes behind Devil's Dune. That bowl there is almost big as Devil's Dune. For some reason when people get to Devil's Dune they stop and miss the good stuff near by. |

More of the bigger dunes... |

They call this the "highway". All the way at the end is ChokeCherry and Devil's Dune. It's a wild ride getting there. |

| Another view of the "highway" looking back towards the smaller dunes. You go up the face of one dune then down and up the next. There are a lot of places where you have to crest over one razorback into another dune. That's creepy if your'e the first in line because you can't see on the other side. You go very fast through here. |

| Here's a bunch of really nice Canadians that I rode with. I let them go first since they know their way pretty well. I always get scared I'm going to fly off the edge of a razorback and kill myself out here. |

| Thunder Mountain. This is where everybody races. There is a dirtbike just cresting the top. It's steep on the other side and most people race almost to the top and turn around. |
![]() |
| This is looking from the smaller dunes out towards the larger ones. Thunder Mountain is the first big dune towards the left. They go several miles all the way to the end. |

| This is Egin Lakes and the BLM campground. They are about 1 or 2 feet deep in most parts and are pretty dry by the end of summer. In the top picture you can see the free BLM campground near the left edge of the trees on the other side of the lake; you can see the white "dots" of RVs. This is mostly a gravel parking area but behind the gravel there are some nice shady areas to camp. There are restrooms here but no other facilities. Keep the speed limit to 5 MPH and observe the quiet hours in the campground or you'll (hopefully) get kicked out by the BLM camp host. Nothing pisses me off more than people tearing through camp when there are tens of thousands of acres of dunes to do whatever you want in!!! |

| This is the Sand Dunes "Resort" right off of Red Road. This is in the area of the smaller dunes. It's actually much bigger that this picture suggests. It's a nice place to camp but there is a fee (around $16 per day I think). There is electric and water hookups fro your RV, bathrooms with showers (dirty and not well kept unfortunately) a little store and plenty of grass and trees. Speed limit is 5 MPH in camp and quite hours too. It's about a 6 mile ride (5 miles straight line) to Thunder Mountain where the big dunes start on a well marked path through the dunes. |

| This is looking over the smaller dunes towards the East. They are not much of a challenge but still fun to ride. Lot's of little half-bowls, jumps and other odd sand formations to play around in. You can see there are a few areas of trees in the dunes. Around these trees there are little motocross style trails that are fun. Out on the horizon you can see a break in the dunes then they go on out further. You can cross Red Road and ride a sometimes rocky trail (careful with the paddles) out to these dunes which stretch out for about 10 more miles. Nobody hardly goes there but it's worth checking out as it's almost like you went into a whole different place because the dunes are so different. |

| One of those little half-bowls. Notice the lava rock on the right. Be careful because that stuff is scattered all along the small dunes (none in the big dunes). A guy on a dirtbike went into that last week and ended up busting himself up pretty bad and going to the hospital. |

| Here's a big and steep bowl. I think this is behind Devil's Dune. Notice Jim standing on the Right edge of the bowl. |

| Here's me getting ready to hit the wall.... |

| Me just hitting the top of Chokecherry. No sweat. |
