Directions: From Laramie, WY go south on 230 which turns into 127 in Colorado then 125. Just stay on the same road and this will take you towards Cowdrey, CO. Between the 127/125 junction and Cowdrey (about 2.5 miles South of the junction) go East on a dirt road to the dunes (red line on map). See the picture of the BLM sign below. You can see the sand from the road. There are good trails above the dunes in the hills too. Make sure you have a Colorado or other OHV sticker. Altitude is 8500 Feet. Don't like my map? | This is the sign you will see from County Road 125. It's easy to miss but it is right by the first farm you come to and the only road in the general area. |
